The Purpose of the DSU (Dash Sliding Unit)
The Dash Sliding Unit or DSU was developed by ROSSBRO ENGINEERING LTD. in 1996 for the transit industry.
ROSSBRO ENGINEERING LTD. was approached by various transit properties to design a method of installing work station components, remote keypads, communication devices, transit cutters, etc... which would be easily accessible and user friendly for transit drivers.
This was originally done to fit the NOVA line of low floor buses.
Since then ROSSBRO ENGINEERING LTD. has developed a further two DSU units for a total of three different models which are designed to fit the majority of North American transit buses. There have been a total of nine different faceplates which fit on all three DSU models for easy installation.
ROSSBRO ENGINEERING LTD. will also custom design and manufacture faceplates to fit customers’ specific needs on request.
New Flyer Industries has recently approved the DSU as an option for their transit buses across North America.
The DSU has been custom made to fit on the dash of the majority of North American transit buses, which is why OC TRANSPO of Ottawa Canada has installed the DSU on close to 900 of their transit bus models including GM CLASSIC, NOVA CLASSIC, MCI CLASSIC, NEW FLYER, ORION, ICARUS AND NOVA LOW FLOOR.
ROSSBRO ENGINEERING LTD. Dash Sliding Units are becoming a synonymous name within the industry in retrofitting workstation designs.
